Two persons including woman gunned down

At least two persons including a woman were gunned down in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Thursday. According to police, an elder woman was shot dead while two others sustained injuries at Noor Khan Goth in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station.
The incident took place at Noor Mohammad Goth located in Sohrab Goth Gaddap area where unidentified men opened indiscriminate gunshots when a security guard namely Jamsheed son of Tikka Khan offered resistance during land grabbing bid. Resultantly, a guard, an elder woman Sahib Zadi, 72 wife of Lal Khan and passer-by Javed received bullet wounds. The land grabbers managed to flee after committing the said crime. Police shifted the injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment where Sahib Zadi succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
SHO Abdul Ghaffar Jumani said the clash took place between land grabbers and the security guards of the said plot that claimed a life of woman and injured two others including a security guard. He said the security guards retaliated when the culprits tried to grab the said plot. He said the body of the woman was handed over to her son and added that the deceased, who hailed from district Dadu, was the resident of tent-city located in the same area where the incident took place. No case was registered till filing of this report. Later, heavy contingent of police and rangers were deployed to bring situation in control.
A bullet-riddled body of youth was found from Lyari Naddi at Ferozabad Colony in the limits of Rizvia police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found his body from Lyari Naddi near Ferozabad Colony No 1 Nazimabad. SHO Shahid Abbas said the victim received single bullet on his head and added that the police did not find any thing from his possession to identify him. He said the deceased, who wore jeans, T-shirt and jacket, appeared to be Urdu speaking. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post mortem and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification. A case was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of state and initiated probe in this connection.
