Gram prices up on grain market

Grams prices were sharply up on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday as supplies were tight from the upcountry market, dealers said. On the grams side, grams Australia N0.1 rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5200-5400, grams Australia No 1 Dall followed the same pattern, picking up equal amount to Rs 5900-6100 and grams 50x50 also rose by Rs 400 to Rs 5800-6000, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh was up by Rs 25 to Rs 3050-3150, Basmati (broken) inferior type retained overnight level at Rs 4500 while the best type appreciated by Rs 400 to Rs 5000, they added. On the cereals side, wheat old and new Bardan picked up Rs 40 to Rs 2690 and Rs 2705, other items held the overnight levels in process of trading, they added. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type was down by Rs 110 to Rs 490 and the best quality shed Rs 50 to Rs 700 on expectations of easy supply in days to come, they said.
