At least three persons lost their lives in different incidents at various parts of the metropolis on Monday. According to police sources, a 50-year-old man namely Hussain son of Ibrahim Gilgiti was killed while crossing the railway track at Drigh road area. Police said the victim, who hailed from Gilgit Baltistan, was the resident of Lines Area.
Later, the body was taken by his heirs without completing legal formalities. Needless to mention that at least four persons including a woman faced similar accidents at different railway tracks during the current year. In another incident, a rider was crushed to death while his brother sustained injures near Korangi Crossing in the limits of Zaman Town police station.
The victims, who were identified as Jaffar Masi, 30 son of Nazir Masi and Mustaq Masi, were hit by a speedy truck (TTB-998) from back when they were on the way to Korangi Crossing from Nasir Jump on a bike. Resultantly, both sustained severe injures and were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where Jaffar succumbed to his injures during treatment.
Police said both victims were siblings and were employed at Korangi Industrial area and added that at the time of accident, they were on the way to home from work. Later, the area people caught the driver Asad and torture him severe and fire his truck. The victims were the residents of Azam Basti. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A 20-year-old teenager namely Danish Masi son of Umair Masi also lost his life in a road accident in Korangi Industrial area police limits. A speedy vehicle hit him from back and ran away. Resultantly, he received fatal injures and died on the spot. Later police shifted his body to JPMC for autopsy and registered a case against unknown driver on the complaint of state.
