In New York, the key March COMEX contract settled up 12.05 cents or 3.2 percent at $3.9015 per lb, after dealing between $3.7775 and $3.9055. After a sluggish start to the week that saw copper back away from last week's four-month highs at $8,679.50 in London and $3.9390 in New York, prices recovered Friday to help copper post its fourth straight weekly gain.
Analysts expect the bullish momentum to continue in the week ahead.
