The e-professional: 'embracing learning technologies' is part of ACCA Research and Insight Series. The event started with a presentation on the key findings of "The e-professional: embracing learning technologies" by Rehanuddin, Head of ACCA, here, followed by a roundtable discussion which highlighted how the e-learning and e-development are transforming the way professionals are being educated and trained.
On the occasion, a rich panel discussion was also held. The panellists discussed how professional education, workplace learning and development spaces are being revolutionised through technology. They also looked at emerging work with the potential to create even richer and more sophisticated learning experiences both for the trainees and experienced professionals.
The discussion highlighted quality advantages such developments can bring - and challenges that still need to be overcome to fully harness technology for learning and development purposes. The panellists included Khalid Zaman Khan, Head of HR, HSBC Bank, Fazal Hussain Gaffoor, CFO & Company Secretary, Central Depository Company of Pakistan, Leon Menezes, General Manager Human Resources, Shell Pakistan Limited, Abbas Ali, Senior Director, Advisory Services, Ernst & Young Ford Rhodes, Sidat Hyder and Rehanuddin, Head of ACCA.
The panel was moderated by Taimur Beiram Khan. The event was attended by employers, Approved Learning Partners and ACCA members. Such events emphasise the need for discussions around talent management, corporate transparency, business accountability and assurance provision challenges presented to the accountancy profession by new business environment.
