The Karachi Port handled 114,707 tonnes of cargo comprising 74,878 tonnes of import cargo and 39,829 tonnes of export cargo including 4,243 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 74,878 tonnes comprised of 23,525 tonnes of containerised cargo; 545 tonnes of general cargo and 50,808 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,829 tonnes comprised of 31,304 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,245 tonnes of general cargo; 4,374 tonnes of bulk cargo and 2,906 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
One ship sailed out to sea during the reported period. Two vessels are currently at the berths.
The total export cargo includes 25,263 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Kolkata, Najran and Golden Ambrosia sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning.
A total number of five vessels CV Maersk Kolkata, CV Najran, MV Al-Barella, MV Golden Ambrosia and MT Chemroad Haya are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, chemicals and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as three ships namely Izumo, CGM Strauss and MT Karachi with containers and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of two vessels viz CV Izumo and CV CGM Strauss carrying containers are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Wednesday.
