Minister for Agriculture Punjab, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has directed the Punjab Seed Corporation (PSC) to ensure sale of high yielding, disease, insects and pest resistant quality seeds of crops to framers for productivity enhancement. He issues these directives while chairing the meeting of the Board of Directors of PSC here on Wednesday.
He underlined to implement an effective, scientific mechanism of seed processing and marketing for availability of quality seeds with special emphasis on procurement of seeds according to the demand of farming community. He directed PSC to minimise its unnecessary expenditures involved in procurement/ processing of seeds and other heads and to utilise the savings in provision of quality seeds to the farmers at cheaper rates. He declared that only good performing PSC officials and workers would get incentives and bonuses in future, whereas poor performers would be dealt accordingly.
