Attock Cement posts Rs 507.1 million profit after tax

Attock Cement Pakistan Limited has posted Rs 507.100 million as profit after tax in the half year period ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 235.101 million earned in the corresponding period in 2010. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 5.86 in the period under review against Rs 2.72 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Wednesday at Dubai, UAE recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year ended December 31, 2011 at Rs 2.50 per share ie 25 percent.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's net sales increased to Rs 4.551 billion in the half-year period in 2011 against Rs 3.785 billion in the same period in 2010. The cost of sales increased to Rs 3.408 billion against Rs 3.195 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 763.100 million in the half year period ended December 31, 2011 against Rs 301.280 million in the same period in 2010.
On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 295.897 million translating earning per share of Rs 3.42 in the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to after tax profit of Rs 138.233 million with per share earning of Rs 1.60 in the same quarter in 2010.
