Asad Shafiq (42) and Adnan Akmal (seven) were batting when lunch was called on Tuesday.

Pakistan resumed play on 292-3 and added 94 runs in the morning session to surpass Bangladesh's first innings total of 338 all out despite the loss off overnight batsman Younus Khan in the second over.

Former skipper Younus could add only one run to his overnight 48 total before he fell to left-arm spinner Elias Sunny with wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim taking the catch.

Misbah, unbeaten on 26 overnight, added 66 runs with Shafiq for the fifth wicket before he was eventually caught by Mahmudullah at slip off slow left armer Shakib Al Hasan for 70.

The Pakistan skipper's 14th test half century included 11 fours.

Bangladesh had the chance to dismiss Misbah on 50 but Robiul Islam dropped an easy catch at mid-on off Shakib.
