Call to resume teaching activities at SU

A peace rally here on Wednesday appealed to the teachers of University of Sindh to resume teaching activities at the campus and play their due role for the betterment of the students. A peace rally organised by Sindh University Officers Welfare Association at Hyderabad Press Club was led by Pro Vice Chancellors Professor Dr Parveen Shah , Professor Dr Anwar Ali Shah, Professor Dr Imdad Ali Ismaili and President of Association Muhammad Nawaz Narejo.
The education activities have remained suspended at the University of Sindh following the assassination of Professor Bashir Ahmed Channer. The participants of the rally said that Sindh is land of Sufis and peace loving people and it is the collective duty of everyone to follow the footsteps of our elders.
They said that the suspension of classes and teaching activities is a great loss of students in particular and society in general, therefore they request SU teachers to resume the classes immediately. They appealed President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousif Raza Gilanai, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah for immediate arrest of killers of Professor Bashir Ahmed Channer.
