Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday said the government would complete its tenure and elections would be held according to the schedule. Talking to a private news channel, he said the government was facing many challenges and the demand of general elections from other political parties was not a solution to those problems.
To a question, Kaira said local bodies elections in provinces was need of the hour rather than the demand of general election. To another question, he said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had brought all the political parties on one agenda through reconciliation. "She always talked of political tolerance to strengthen the institutions and democracy in the country," he added.
