Holding funds for uplift work at Gorakh Hills: Secretary Tourism transferred
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has transferred Pir Bux Jamali, Secretary Tourism Department for not releasing funds for the development work at Gorakh Hills project site located in Dadu district, Business Recorder learnt on Tuesday.
Jamali had been directed to report at General Administration Department, according to a transfer letter issued to him, sources said. Sources inside the department said that transfer of Secretary Tourism Pir Bux Jamali had been occurred on the directives of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
They added that the chief minister took serious notice of halting of the development work at Gorakh hills due to stoppage of allocated funds by Pir Bux Jamali. It may be noted that Jamali had stopped the funds of Rs 185 million of Gorakh hills project in the month of November 2011, resulting works on the site had been halted by the contractors. Jamali had firmly opposed the development work and clearly told the officials of GHDA that he would not release the funds for the project, sources said.
