Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran on Tuesday presided over a meeting with a delegation of STEDEC Technology Commercialisation Corporation of Pakistan headed by its Managing Director Kokab Mohayyuddin. Senior faculty members attended the meeting.
STEDEC officials informed the meeting that the organisation aimed at commercial marketing under the administrative control of Ministry of Science and Technology. They said the prime objective of STEDEC was to commercialise indigenously researched products, processes and technologies and assist all public sector R&D institution in their commercialisation efforts. They said STEDEC was assisting ministry of Science and Technology in the management of projects and was trying to reduce dependence on foreign technologies and enhance import substitution.
The delegates sought help of Punjab University faculty members for their input for resolving problems the industry was facing and enhance collaboration with the university in this regard. Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran lauded their efforts and formed a committee for promotion of mutual co-operation.
