Empowered by the full house to bring his own penal, Syed Aqil Shah and Zulfiqar Butt have been retained as president and secretary general of Khyber-Pakthunkhwa Olympic Association respectively for the next four-year term in a election meeting held at Green Hut.
Looking at the past performance of both Syed Aqil Shah and Zulfiqar Butt and their team for holding third inter-provincial games and 31st national games successfully, the General Council gave full power to Aqil Shah to present his own panel which was elected unopposed. Din Muhammad had proposed the panel and Syed Azhar Ali Shah, president of KP Cycling Association seconded it.
The house also gave standing aviation to Aqil Shah after his election for the third consecutive years while Zulfiqar Butt was elected for the second time. Secretary General Pakistan Athletic Federation, Khalid Mehmood and Shafique Ahamd of Pakistan Handball Federation represented POA as observer while Aamir Zahid Shah represented KP Sports Board as observer.
The number of other office-bearers, including Syed Zahir Shah (SV president), extended from six to eight comprising KP food minister, Shuja Khan, who is also president of KP Athletic Federation, Shagufta Malik, chairperson of provincial standing committee on sports, MPA Sikander Irfan, president of KP Softball Association, Azmat Hanif Orakzai, president of Table Tennis Association, Sahibzada Anis, president of KP Baseball Association, Qamar Zaman, secretary KP Squash Association, Inamullah Gandapur, secretary Khyber Pakthunkhwa Shooting Association, Shahid Kamal of KP Volleyball Association.
