All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA) leadership criticises the government for introducing SRO 821(1) 2011, asking for NTN and CNIC of unregistered buyers from January 1. A violation of the stipulation, the SRO contemplates, would tantamount to penal offence.
The APTPMA leadership said the textile processing industry is already succumbing to gas suspension from December 25, leading to massive closure of units. The APTPMA leadership also criticised the government for not fulfilling commitments on restoration of gas supply. Meanwhile, they said, the condition of SRO 821 is last nail in processing industry coffin, as the government is shifting its job to the industry without rhyme and reason. The APTPMA has strongly opposed the SRO and said the industry would not accept any such coercive measure.
