"Wheat crop is in tiller/shooting development stages in the agriculture plains of the country. Farmers should irrigate the crops as per requirement," the office said in its 10-day advisory for farmers.
Rain with snow fall is expected at scattered places over the hills of Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions and Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and DI Khan divisions and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on January 22 and January 23 and followed by spells on January 25 and January 26, the office said.
Widespread rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in the parts of Balochistan from January 21 to January 24, the office said, adding, however weather in Sindh was likely to remain dry during the forecast period. Weather in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan is likely to remain mainly dry in the last 10 days of January, it said, "Mostly cloudy conditions with isolated light to moderate rain/light snowfall over the hills expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan during the period," it said.
