Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Asim Hussain has postponed his meeting with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) leadership scheduled for Wednesday (yesterday) due to court hearing on contempt of court notice against Prime Minister Gilani.
The meeting will be held now on Friday (tomorrow) in Islamabad. Dr Hussain was likely to meet Aptma leadership on Wednesday (yesterday) to have talks on the issue of gas supply to the textile industry. SNGPL has suspended gas supply to the textile industry since December 25, which has affected production shifts in textile units at large leading to job cuts. Aptma sources have expressed fear of $2 billion export losses due to energy crisis. The textile industry had achieved record exports of $14 billion last fiscal year when President Zardari intervened himself to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the textile industry even during January and February.
