Chinese dentist, industrialist kidnapped

A Chinese dentist and an industrialist on Tuesday were abducted in separate kidnapping bids in various parts of the metropolis here. According to police, a Chinese dentist namely Dr Chinwongchow was kidnapped from his clinic located at Haqqani Chowk, Orangi Town. They suspected that the victim, who was said to be converted Muslim and changed his name to Muhammad Yousuf, was abducted for ransom.
They said the victim, who was the father of four, was residing at North Nazimabad near Board Office and has been practising in the said clinic for the last 20 years. Meanwhile, SHO Asif Rao dispelled the impression that he was converted Muslim, saying that police found nothing in this regard and added that although the said crime seemed to be made for ransom still the kidnappers have so far not demanded money for his release. He further said the case 6/12 has been registered under section 365A on the complaint of his brother Ricky Chaing against unidentified culprits.
In another incident, an industrialist of New Karachi Industrial Area was also kidnapped at Ahsanabad, Gulshan Maymar area. Police said the captive Mosavir Khan, who was the owner of a factory located in New Karachi Industrial Area, went missing when he was going to Gulshan Maymar for formal work and added that the victim was the resident of F.B. Area block 16.
SHO Ali Ahmad Bugti said the place of crime is yet to be ascertained while the car of the victim has been found from Ahsanbad, Gulshan Maymar. He said the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs 20 million for his release and added that a case 5/12 has been registered on the complaint of his brother against unidentified culprits. Needless to mention, both kidnapping cases have been transferred to Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) for the recovery of captives.
