All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) in collaboration with the Punjab Police has constituted Industrial Police Liaison Committee (IPLC) to make the area of textile industry a place where criminal activities are controlled. It may be noted that the Kasur-Raiwind-Manga is known to be hub of textile industry at the outskirt of Lahore city.
Senior Vice Chairman Aptma and chief of the IPLC Mian Mahmood Ihsan said the security threats have become major point of concern for individuals as well as for industrial undertakings. Therefore, keeping in view the gravity of this issue, Aptma has formed the IPLC.
He said major objective of the IPLC is to provide industry a secure environment to work, invest and run their operations in a secure manner. Talking about the proposed operational functions of IPLC, Mian Mahmood said establishment of control room in the each zone, equipped with track-able vehicles, emergency complaint receiving and handling center managed by trained police officials, classification of areas as per sensitivity and frequent Police patrolling are major areas of the operations of the IPLC.
