Businessmen disappointed by ignorance of chief minister Punjab on gas supply
The business community has expressed disappointment over the ignorance of Chief Minister Punjab towards their troubles due to gas curtailment. Sources among the participants of a meeting held a day earlier at the Chief Minister house told Business Recorder that the Chief Minister started meeting with an inquiry about the number of days the industry receiving gas from SNGPL in a week.
According to them, they were not expecting a question like this from the Chief Minister especially when the industrial associations and Chambers were crying for gas since December 25. It may be noted that the Chief Minister Punjab had convened a meeting of different industry stakeholders besides office bearers from different Chambers from the province to discuss the gas supply situation.
The sources said it was quite amazing that the industry was out of gas supply since December 25 but the Chief Minister was asking them about the number of days they are receiving gas from the SNGPL. Interestingly, one MNA from Lahore having a spinning mill and supposedly very close to the Chief Minister had also not briefed the Chief Minister about the situation on ground, said industry circles. One reason could be that the said MNA might not have any problem in gas supply to his mill, said one angry businessman from outside Lahore.
