Rooting out terrorism: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister calls for adopting joint strategy
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has called upon the major forefront states in war against terrorism, including United States and Afghanistan, to adopt joint strategy for complete rooting out terrorism from this region, saying that any individual level peace initiative would fruitless in this regard.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said that the major three allies and radical Taliban needs form negotiations teams and prepare agenda for holding talks with them. Mian Iftikhar Hussain has condemned the terrorist attack on the District Police Office D.I.Khan and said that the drastic steps would be taken to eliminate terrorism from the province.
He informed that three security personnel including a police official were killed in the attack, while seven left injured. He further said that three injured in critical condition were shifted to Peshawar. The provincial Minister said that three terrorists had been killed in police encounter and police controlled the situation within a short span of time.
He said that the situation had been improved with the help of actions of security agencies but wherever they (terrorists) find any gap they carried out their deadly activities. Regarding the present political situation, he said political activities were continued in full swing in the country. "Our forces are fully alert round the clock to thwart any untoward incident, he added.
