Operation in Bara: activists of Jamaat-i-Islami hold protest demonstration

The activists of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) from Bara Khyber Agency held a protest demonstration outside Peshawar Press Club against the ongoing military operation in Tehsil Bara, Khyber agency and demanded of the government to stop operation immediately.
JI Ameer Khyber Agency, Shah Faisal Afridi and other activists were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans against the operation and in favour of their demands. The protesters were chanting anti-government slogans and criticised the elected representatives of FATA for not taking notice of turbulent situation in the tribal areas.
Talking to reporters, Afridi said that the basic human rights were violated since military operation was launched in Bara almost two years. He said that mortar shells were being blindly fired in which several people were killed while dozens other including women and children had been paralysed. He informed that four women were killed and four others were critically injured in a shellfire upon a house in Akakhel area.
Afridi further said trade and business of the area had come to a complete halt, whereas the educational institutions were closed down in the area. The protestors demanded of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and federal government to immediately halt the military operation in Tehsil Bara and ensure sustainable peace in the region by resolving all the issues through dialogue.
