The Karachi Port handled 106,468 tonnes of cargo comprising 100,348 tonnes of import cargo and 6,120 tonnes of export cargo including 2,423 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 100,348 tonnes comprised of 19,234 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,873 tonne of general cargo; 27,786 tonnes of bulk cargo and 41,455 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 6,120 tonnes comprised of 4,086 tonnes of containerised cargo; 537 tonnes of general cargo and 1,497 tonnes of bulk cargo. Five ships namely Greenwich Bridge, APL Brisbane, APL Mirqab, Victory and Liberty Pride with three container ships, one general cargo ship and one vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Rio Bravo, YM Fuzhou, Maria Princess, Purwati and Alfxi-1 with two container ships, two oil tankers and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely SE Pacifica, Tan Binh-22 and Star Sea Bridge with one general cargo ship, one seeds carrier and one coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while four ships namely Rio Bravo, Maria Princess, Purwati and Fade-1 carrying one container ship, one oil tanker, one chemicals carrier and one wheat carrier are expected to sail on Saturday.
Four vessels viz OEL Trust, APL Guangzhou, Jin Hu and Zhen Hua-10 carrying two container ships, one coal carrier and one crane ship respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz YM Taichung, Abtin-1, Ginga Lanner, Stolt Breland and MT Karachi carrying two container ships, one palm oil tanker, one tallow oil tanker and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A total number of eight vessels CV CMA CGM Puget, CV Safmarine Nagami, CV Nysted Maersk, MV Hiba Al-Noor-B, MT Golden Ambrasia, MT Chemroad Lily, MT Patriotic and MV Ocean Eagle are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, chemicals and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as seven ships namely Alexander, Estia, Akaki, Al-Buhaira, Chemroute Sun, Bunga Kantan Dua and Fair Chem Filly with one container ship, three furnace oil tankers, two palm oil tankers and one phosphoric acid ship are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of two vessels viz CV Alexander and Fair Chem Filly carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday, while a container vessel viz CV MSC Anafi due to arrive on the same day. As many as five container vessels viz CV Maersk Carolina, CV Maersk Kingston, CV Deira, CV CMA CGM Verdi and CV New Delhi Express are also expected to arrive at Port Qasim.
