India imported 669,912 tonnes of vegetable oils in December, down 21.7 percent from the previous month, deterred by ample local oilseeds supply and a weak rupee, trade data showed on Friday. Palm oil imports - the bulk of India's edible oil purchases - fell 25.5 percent December to 552,327 tonnes. Soyaoil imports did not rise as expected by traders, falling 7.7 percent to 7,387 tonnes over November.
