Bara IDPs demand early provision of food

Internally Displaced Person from Bara, Khyber Agency have demanded early release of food instalment withheld for the last nine months and provision of other facilities at their makeshift camp at Jalozai, district Nowshera. The demand was made during a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club by PTI activist, Bara, Iqbal Afridi on Thursday.
He said that the Bara teshil was turned to battlefield for the last nine months, where the education and business activities had badly shattered. "Hundreds of people have left their hometown and take shelter in makeshift camp", he maintained. He said the IDPs are facing enormous difficulties at their temporary shelter facility at Jalozai refugees' camp in district Nowshera. He said that the camps are lacking all basic facilities and other livelihood, whereas the IDPs were not paid Rs 9700 each affected family under the cash for food scheme for the last nine months. Afridi said that government had stopped a huge amount of Rs 250 million for provision of food assistance to IDPs. He added that there was also massive financial irregularities were made in IDPs funds. The IDPs have warned that if the government was failed to release food for cash instalment within next 10 days, they will launch a movement against it.
