South West Asia Baseball in Pakistan: India, Sri Lanka confirm participation

India and Sri Lanka have confirmed their participation in South West Asia baseball cup being played here from March 23. "We have received the confirmation from India and Sri Lanka and we are delighted that they would be participating in the event", said a spokesman of Pakistan Baseball Federation here on Wednesday.
He said the event will help promote baseball in the South West Asia specially in Pakistan where youth is showing great interest to take up baseball as a regular sport. The spokesman said Iran and Afghanistan have already confirmed their participation in the week-long event which also aims at bringing back international sports events to Pakistan.
"We will be making fool proof security arrangements for the safety of the foreign teams and we will be updating them on this issue on regular basis before their arrival in Pakistan," he said.
