Two Pakistani players win titles in Scottish squash championship

Two promising junior squash players from Punjab, Umer Allauddin and Hamza Bokhari won titles in different age groups in Scottish Junior squash championsship in Scotland on Wednesday Umer, a new discovery in national junior squash, is the son of former world number two, Gogi Allauddin who claimed the U-15 title while Hamza who is also tipped as a future squash asset won the U-19 title to make their country proud.
It was a sterling performance on part of Umer who in his maiden appearance in international level beat Indian Sandeep Ramachandar with ease and comfort en route to straight sets win 11-9,11-9,11-2. Hamzar got rid of hosts Doughlas Kempsell after making grand recovery overcoming the deficit of second set loss to win 11-7,10-12,11-8,11-4.
Umer told APP from Scotland that he is very happy to win a title in his first appearance in a international squash tournament and he is confident to build on his success in future by putting in more hard work and training under the able supervision of his mentor and father, Gogi Allauddin. "It was a easy final as I concentrated on my game plan and committed lesser number of mistakes ", he said.
"Pakistan is without a major squash title at the moment and I want to see my country winning these titles which is only possible when junior players prepare themselves with undying spirit and commitment". Hamza said it was a memorable feeling of his career to win a title. " I did not give up the fight despite my loss in the second set and I came back with greater determination and promise to beat my opponent". Meanwhile President, Punjab Sqaush Association, Malik Amjad Ali Noon and Secretary, Tariq Farooq Rana have greeted both the players on their success. It may be mentioned here that one player from Punjab Israr Ahmad won U-15 title of British Jr open while Kashif Asif lost the final of U-13 event in the same competition.
