Multan region is facing CNG closure for the third consecutive day today (Wednesday) under the gas load management programme. According to CNG Association, 216 gas stations in Vehari, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan and Layyah are closed for the third day. CNG stations were closed from 6 am on Monday and will resume supply Wednesday night at 10 pm.
Owners of public transport have increased fares since the region is facing three-day CNG closure. The transporters and rickshaw drivers here on Wednesday staged protest demonstration against closure of CNG stations and record increase in gas prices and blocked GT road for several hours to press the government to review its decision.
