Senior Vice President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Turab Ali Khoja has expressed deep concern over the poor condition of Super highway and said that it is the only source of movement of imported/raw material allover the country.
In a press statement here on Wednesday, he said that National Highway Authority (NHA) was increasing tool tax continuously but it was not paying attention on the construction of Super Highway, Khoja said. Due to the poor condition, it was becoming difficult for all kind of vehicles to maintain balance on the highway, which might cause accidents, he said and added that the condition of highway was also severely damaged due to heavy Nato containers and trawlers.
He said that Super Highway was handed over to the NHA in 1997 and after 2006 the carpeting of the highway had not been done. He alleged that the NHA was spending all the funds on the construction of Punjab Motorway, which was unfair with the people of Sindh.
