Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani's interview to People's Daily Online that has led to a political storm in the country, is yet to appear on the daily's website.
The prime minister in his interview to the Chinese newspaper on Monday stated that Army Chief Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Director General Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) General Ahmed Shuja Pasha submitted their statements to the Supreme Court without the government's approval in the Memogate case that was 'illegal' and 'unconstitutional.'
The interview that was flashed as breaking news in the state-run TV (PTV), made headlines in all the national dailies, however, it is yet to appear on the website of the People's Daily Online. The interview prompted the powerful military to issue a press statement warning that the prime minister's allegations would have "very serious ramifications with potentially grievous consequences for the country". Launched in January 1998, People's Daily Online is a website run by People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China.
