Deaths during doctors' strike: Punjab government asked to present report of inquiry commission by February 2
Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Tuesday directed the Punjab government to present by February 02 the report of the inquiry commission to fix the responsibility of the deaths during the doctors' strike. CJ ordered that this report should be presented in a sealed envelope so that he can also go through the report before issuing final orders on its implementation.
The petitioner Manzoor Qadir submitted that the LHC, on April 8, had ordered the Punjab government to hold an inquiry to probe into the doctors' strike to determine the losses and to get punished the responsible. He said that an inquiry commission held its proceeding and sent it's report to Punjab chief secretary. He submitted that the commission report should be held public but it was not done and even no action was taken on the report.
