1 min
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday sought reply from Governor Punjab by February 18 in a petition challenging appointment of governor's former advisor Zahid Bashir as Chairman Red Cross Society Punjab chapter. The society's members Liaqat Ali and Muhammad Munawar submitting that the governor being president of the Red Cross Society appointed Bashir as new chairman by removing Mian Muhammad Hanif on January 06.
They said the impugned appointment was made ignoring merit and purely on political grounds. Petitioners also alleged that the Bashir soon after taking over charge as the society's chairman started misusing his powers and wasting the society's resources.
