Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government having miserably failed to deliver during the last four years, had adopted the most dangerous path of a clash with the armed forces. Commenting on the latest developments in the country, he urged the government allies to advise the PPP leadership to step down and announce immediate elections.
He said if the PPP heeded to their suggestion, it would be well and good otherwise the allies should pull out of the government and mobilise the masses to come on roads. The opposition parties should also join hands for the sake of national solidarity, he added. However, he declared that the JI would not support any unconstitutional step from any side.
The JI Ameer warned that if the political leadership did not guide the masses in the right direction at this juncture, the rulers would hand over everything to the US and added that the US and India were already in search of an opportunity to attack this country.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the Supreme Court in its order on Tuesday had suggested six options to the government but the PPP leadership was not good enough to benefit from that and it was still taking aggressive steps. Therefore, the Supreme Court should take immediate notice of the present critical situation.
