France condemns blast in Jamrud

Published Updated

France on Wednesday condemned the "cowardly attack" in Jamrud that left around 35 people killed and over 60 injured and expressed solidarity with the people of the area for their courage. A statement from the French embassy said, Jamrud that lies close to the border with Afghanistan, has been frequently targeted because of its opposition to the Taliban's presence in the region.
"France commends the courage shown by the town's inhabitants and, in these tragic circumstances, expresses its wholehearted solidarity with all victims of terrorism." "France stands alongside all those who are fighting against terrorism," the statement said.
