The met office on Tuesday said cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. However, it says isolated rain may occur in Makran division, besides severe cold wave conditions would persist for the next two days in upper and central parts of the country. It adds that dense foggy conditions are likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sukkur division.
"A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect western parts of country from 13 January and would extend up to the central and upper parts onward," it says in its daily weather summery. Temperature in Kalam declined to minus 15 degree centigrade with Astore minus 11, Hunza and Skardu minus 10 each and Quetta minus 9 in the last 24 hours, it reports.
