Gas crisis to be resolved through consultation with provinces: Firdous
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the prevailing gas crisis was temporary and it would be resolved through consultation with provinces. Talking to various delegations at Kuba Check on Sunday evening she said that the government was making hectic efforts for resolving gas issue in consultation with provinces.
The minister said that currently gas was being supplied to all provinces as per a specific formula.
She attributed the ongoing power crisis to shortage of water, saying that but the government was mobilising all resources for overcoming the problem.
She revealed that government was providing subsidy amounting to Rs25 billion monthly for overcoming the energy crisis.
The minister underscored the need of collective efforts to bringing the country out the prevailing crises.
She said that due to global recession Pakistan was in clutches of price hike and confronting with other problems adding that price hike was a provincial issue.
The minister said that resolving problems of industrial sector of Sialkot was among the priorities of the government.
