All efforts of Punjab government aim at country's prosperity: chief minister Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that service to the masses is a form of prayer "for us and we are pursuing a comprehensive program" of public welfare and rapid development of the province. He was talking to MPAs from various districts here on Sunday.
He said that protection of life and property is the government's foremost priority and all possible steps would be taken for further improving law and order in the province. He said that every effort is directed towards progress and prosperity of the country, "and we will put it on the road to development and prosperity by steering it out of crisis" under the leadership of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and turn it into the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal in real sense.
He said that corruption has shaken the foundations of the country and every person will have to play his role for purging the society of this menace. He said that merit, good governance and transparency have been promoted in the province and the development projects of present era are unprecedented with regard to quality and transparency.
The CM said that transparent utilisation of every penny of the public money is being ensured and all resources are being utilised for welfare of the masses. He said that the credit of materialising the dream of labourers, farmers, widows, martyrs and a common and poor man of having their own shelter goes to PML-N, which, for the first time in the history of the country, has provided facilities to the poor in Aashiyana housing scheme more than the residential schemes of the elites.
Shahbaz said that steps are being taken for provision of quality and comfortable transport facilities to the people. He said that after provincial metropolis, plan has also been made for extending its scope to other big cities of the province.
Regarding his visit to Turkey, he said that besides accelerating the pace of implementation of various agreements, his visit also helped in seeking new avenues of co-operation in other sectors. He said the way Turkey has made tremendous progress rapidly and has become a strong economic force today "is a role model for us". He said that "we can also put the country on the road to progress by working hard and restore its lost image".
He said that Allah Almighty has bestowed rich resources to motherland, "and we cannot only achieve the destiny of self-reliance by developing these resources but also get rid the menace of charity of Aghyaar". He stressed upon the elected representatives to spare no effort for ensuring transparent and timely completion of public welfare projects.
