The Karachi Port handled 133,855 tonnes of cargo comprising 115,705 tonnes of import cargo and 18,150 tonnes of export cargo including 4,582 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 115,705 tonnes comprised of 45,774 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,224 tonnes of bulk cargo and 58,707 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 18,150 tonnes comprised of 11,920 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,113 tonnes of general cargo and 5,117 tonnes of bulk cargo. One ship sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely MT Leader, MT SC Shantou and MV APL Chile sailed out to sea during last 24 hours on Saturday. A total number of seven vessels MV Hiba Al-Noor-B, MV APL Chile, MT Leader, MT SCF Provider, MT SC Shantou, MT Pearl Bulker and MT North Contender are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, containers, palm oil, diesel oil, canola seeds and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours. As many as two ships namely MT Fair Spirit and Akaki with two furnace oil tankers are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Two ships namely MT Al-Soor-II and MV Nala Demas due to arrive on Saturday.
