One police official was martyred and eight militants were apprehended during an encounter between militants and law-enforcement agencies in Bakhshali area of Mardan district, police official informed here on Friday. The law enforcement agencies were conducting search operation in Bakhshali area against anti-state elements when some militants opened fire on them as a result of which one sub-inspector was killed.
The law enforcement agencies apprehended eight militants with cache of arms.
