The 84th birthday of former Prime Minister and the founder chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was celebrated here on Thursday by the PPP Hyderabad chapter and the party's different wings. PPP district president Amanullah Siyal and other party leaders cut the birthday cake at District Council office of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Siyal paid glowing tribute to Bhutto for his endless struggle for democracy, country's development and sacrifice for the nation. He recounted the achievements of Bhutto saying he gave the nation its first constitution, gave the nation its nuclear programme and spearheaded the constitution of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC), among other achievements.
Amanullah said that the PPP workers want the Supreme Court to give its judgement on the conviction of Bhutto in order to clear the history's wrong. "President Zardari's reference should be proceeded in the court in order to exonerate Bhutto from false accusations," he added.
Separately, People's Lawyers Forum also celebrated the birthday at Sindh High Court Bar Association Hyderabad Hall at SHC building. Additional Advocate General Allah Bachayo Soomro, who is also president SHCBA Hyderabad, speaking on the occasion praised the contributions of Shaheed Bhutto to give the country its constitution. He reiterated the resolve that the People's Lawyers Forum would continue its struggle for judiciary's independence and upholding of the constitution. The PPP women wing led by Noorunissa Abro also organised a ceremony.
They cut the birthday cake and paid homage to Shaheed Bhutto for his historic contributions for development, peace and prosperity of Pakistan and the larger Islamic world. Peoples Students Federation (PSF), Peoples Doctors Forum (PDF) and other wings of the party took out rallies to celebrate the birthday.
