Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, has directed the police to take effective measures for security and traffic arrangements on the occasion of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain(AS). A police statement here on Thursday said that the Minister held a meeting with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and instructed that in co-ordination with the Rangers, foolproof security steps should be taken on the occasion in the province.
Manzoor Wassan also called for fostering religious harmony and brotherhood by seeking co-operation of Ulema from all schools of thought. He also directed the police that for effective security in the province, special attention be paid towards the report of police's special branch, deployment of plain clothed policemen be enhanced.
There should be more patrolling by the mobile and the motorcycles. Special surveillance be mounted on the entry and exit points and an eye be kept on the activities of the suspects. The Minister said that safety and security of the people is the priority of the government by ensuring the maintenance of law and order.
