Following the first robbery incident reported at Shah Faisal police station remits where a gang of robbers looted huge quantity of gold ornaments worth Rs 5.56 million from a jewellery shop, the shopkeepers staged protest demonstration to express resentment against the growing incidents of robbery at Sarafa Market.
The protesters, who took on street after the said robbery where dacoits ran away with huge quantity of gold ornaments, weighted some 1300 tolas, shouted slogans against the law enforcement agencies for their failure to avert such incidents. The protesters said this was third incidents at Shah Faisal Sarafa market but police and other law enforcers are still unable to nab the culprits and recovered the looted valuables.
According to SHO Sarfaraz Gondal, some six bandits barged into Khan Hazara Jewellers and held all staff hostage at gunpoint. Then the looters snatched gold ornaments along with artificial jewellery worth Rs 5.56 million and escaped in leaps and bounds. He said the police have started investigation and hoped to arrest the culprits, shortly.
