Never-ending energy crisis is government's inefficiency: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday said that his party would announce its future course of action against the government in its central executive committee meeting to be held on Saturday - in which civil disobedience is one of the options.
Speaking a press conference, Imran said that poor law and order situation, sky-rocketing inflation, unemployment and growing energy crisis in the country were due to the PPP's NRO-affected regime, which had miserably failed on all fronts. He said that PTI would fully support the ongoing mass protests against the government as it was a US-backed puppet regime, which was imposed on Pakistanis through 2008 elections to serve the US interest in the country.
Khan said that the main reason behind the never-ending energy crisis was inefficiency of the government. "It is the only government which has set a record by appointing a matric-passed guy as managing-director to head the Oil Gas And Development Corporation (OGDCL), who was later sacked by the Supreme court...this is the worst example of poor governance, what else we can expect from them", he added.
He alleged that during the last four years, the Wapda had traced 400,000 illegal electricity connections but none of them had been either punished or arrested. The rich of the country were busy in stealing and passing burden to common man. The losses of national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had crossed over Rs 100 billion, Pakistan Railways revenue had been reduced to Rs 12 billion from Rs 28 billion, he added.
He said that Rs 60 billion was being given as subsidy to Pakistan Railways from the tax payers money and the fertiliser, which was available at Rs 600-700 per bag and now being sold over Rs 2000 per bag due to black-marketing and fake stores run by people sitting at helm of affairs.
Expressing great concern over the killing of Dr Baqir in Balochistan, he said that this was the worst example of human rights as a man who spoke the truth was silenced because he did not bow down before the tyrant. About the cameraman who filed the whole Khorotabad incident, Khan said, he was also under threat. "The photographer told me that is also facing life threats and I have talked to IG Balochistan that if anything happened to him, he will be responsible", he added.
He said "During the CEC meeting, the PTI would take stock of the situation. they will stage a mass protest against the government throughout the country and never backtrack from out stance like a political party, which took to the street against the regime with a slogan 'go Zaradri go' but the end result was 'go Imran Khan go...this is how things change here", he regretted.
About any possible alliance with General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) in future, Khan said that it would be decided when the general would be back home and any decision of making an alliance with the MQM would be taken after consultation with the legal team of the party.
He said the elections would not derail the democratic system as it would further strengthen it. Giving example of Italy, he said, it held 41 elections in 41 years but it did not harm its democratic set up rather further strengthened it. Khan brushed aside that Fatima Bhutto, the niece of Benazir Bhutto, was going to join his party, terming it rumours as no talks were going on between the them.
