Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 105,142 tonnes of cargo comprising 76,686 tonnes of import cargo and 28,456 tonnes of export cargo including 6,936 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 76,686 tonnes comprised of 56,154 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,413 tonne of general cargo; 19,119 tonnes of bulk cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,456 tonnes comprised of 21,720 tonnes of containerised cargo; 35 tonnes of general cargo; 6,701 tonnes of bulk cargo. Four ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels are currently at the berths. No ships are expected to sail and due to arrive on Saturday.

The total import cargo of 63,452 tonnes includes 37,041 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,650 tonnes of palm oil; 316 tonnes of project cargo; 3,448 tonnes of chemicals and 14,997 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 32,806 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV Safmarine Nagami sailed out to sea during last 24 hours on Saturday. A total number of seven vessels CV Safmarine Nagami, CV MSC Anafi, MV Formation, MT Kei, MV Norgas Petaluma, MV Al-Buhaira and MT Pearl Bulker are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, palm oil, furnace oil, canola seeds and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours. No ships are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. No vessels are expected to take berths and due to arrive on Saturday.
