A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday restrained officials of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from taking any action against the petitioner in Sales Tax refund case till further orders.
The bench comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar after hearing arguments of the counsel of petitioner Malik Muhammad Yasin, restrained the FBR officials from taking action in the subject matter against him and ordered issuance of notices to respondents including Federal Secretary Finance, Director General (Inquiries) FBR and others. The petitioner has moved the court against a notice issued by FBR on September 26, 2011 alleging that he has obtained Rs 9,18,000 in respect of Sales Tax refund through fake invoices, causing loss to the national exchequer.
