At least two persons were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis on Wednesday. According to police and rescue sources, an old man was shot dead at Rufi Bara Market Sohrab Goth in the limits of Sacchal police station. The incident took place on Wednesday, where Haji Feroz Khan, 69 son of Mir Hassan, a resident of Ali Town Sohrab Goth, was targeted when he was on his way to home after offering Fajir prayers.
He received four bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. SHO Azhar Ali said the victim, who used to run a wood works at Ali Town and hailed from Mohmand Agency Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, was murdered over personal ground. Later, police handed over his body to the heirs and registered an FIR 849/11 against unidentified men on the complaint of victim's son Sarfaraz.
A cashier of petrol pump was gunned down when he offered resistance during robbery bid near Sarafa Bazaar in the limits of Liaquatabad police station. The incident took place at petrol pump situated at Sarafa Bazaar Liaquatabad no 2, where two armed riders opened indiscriminate gunshots on petrol pump cashier Saeedullah, 32 son of Sher Khan when he offered resistance during robbery bid. Resultantly, he received bullet injuries and died on the spot while bandits ran away with Rs 4000 cash from the pump.
The body was shifted to ASH for legal formalities. Police said the body of the victim, who was the resident of Hijrat Colony Sultanabad and hailed from Peshawar, was handed over to his heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report.
