Karachi Transport Action Committee has strongly opposed the proposed closure of CNG stations for one month in Sindh and demanded of the government not to act upon such a proposal.
In a joint statement on Sunday president of the committee Muhammad Ashraf Banglori, Chaudhry Mazhar Hussain, Lala Sultan and Nazeer Banglori said that the masses were already facing severe problems due to weekly closure of CNG stations therefore the government should avoid compounding their troubles.
They said that the government first encouraged the use of CNG but now when the transporters and other people have invested billions of rupees in this sector, CNG is not available due to the incompetency of the government.
They demanded of the government to take steps on emergency basis for smooth availability of the CNG, otherwise the masses would come out on road against it.
