Pakistan Muslim and other organisations, NGOs, and local educational institutions on Sunday commemorated the 135th birth anniversary of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today (Sunday) with reverence and solemnity in Multan and other parts of Southern Punjab.
A number of activities were arranged to highlight the Quaid's guiding principles of "Unity, Faith and Discipline" for promoting prosperity, peace and harmony in the country. The Day reminds about the Quaid's historic struggle for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent where every citizen could live according to his faith and dignity. The celebrations will take place both at public and private levels by holding befitting functions to pay tribute to Quaid for his heroic struggle for an independent homeland. Meanwhile, a special sitting in connection with the Quaid-e-Azam Day was held at Arts Council Multan under the chairmanship of Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani in charge of Prime Minister's camp in Multan. The speakers highlighted the achievement of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A number of social, cultural and educational programmes arranged in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur and other cities to pay tribute to the Quaid-e-Azam on Sunday. Both private and state-run channels and FM radios aired special programmes while national dailies including e-newspapers usually publish special supplements to apprise the people about the Father of the Nation.
