At least six personnel of the Frontier Corps were killed and twelve others injured when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the Tochi Scouts Lines in Bannu on Saturday morning. According to police, the attack on the barrack situated on Kohat Road in Bannu resulted in complete destruction of the Lines and a nearby checkpost.
The attack was reportedly followed by heavy firing on the spot. The injured were rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu where the condition of some injured was stated critical. Meanwhile, a thirteen-year old boy was killed and three other injured in the explosion of toy bomb in Urmar Miyana, suburban locality of the provincial metropolis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police, the explosion occurred in the house of a man, Gul Shah, and resulted in the injuring four persons including a teenager Saddam, who later succumbed to his injuries. The injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar.
