Swiss franc ticks up

Published Updated

The Swiss franc rose versus the greenback and was treading water against the euro on Friday, with more upbeat investor sentiment globally weighing on the dollar and with few investors taking big positions in the run-up to the Christmas break. Worries the euro zone debt crisis will intensify next year have helped support the dollar versus the euro of late. The franc rose 0.2 percent against the dollar to trade at 0.9336 by 0747 GMT compared to the New York close.
The franc was little moved against the euro, trading at 1.2219.
